The Vision Committee advances specific initiatives and enables other club activities. The focus areas below will be developed and presented to the board and club for implementation.
Goal: Develop and finalize RFC statements and documents that guide and add definition to who are we as a club, and what is important to us.
Use this to center and re-align our work today, and tomorrow.
Goal: Finalize and execute plans for capital and other infrastructure projects including hangars, a terminal, projects with the marina, and more.
Make CYRO a destination for Ottawa and a great resource for RFC members.
Goal: Define the fleet standard and goals for RFC. Implement it.
A great fleet means a more modern student experience, a better rental opportunity, and more exciting flight club. What are the standards we want to have for our fleet, and what do we need to do and to budget to get there?
Goal: Build documentation, metrics, and other supporting material to bolster fundraising, community engagement, and other efforts external to RFC.
Make RFC visibly relevant to the city and organizations around us, whether for tourism, economic development, education, and more.
Right now it is fairly straightforward. We need to:
Assemble the team - now (Q4 2022). The team consists of the sub-committee leads (members of the Board - Andrew Loschmann) and RFC volunteers. We'll likely want to have sets of individuals work through each of the focus areas as a sub-team. Let us know you're game!
Come up with draft plans and timelines for implementation (Q4 2022/Q1 2023). Report early, and development momentum. We'll get some notes, ideas and plans together and report back to membership and to the board.
Get going. Once the plans are in place and accepted by the Board, we'll start execution. There are obviously a number of significant hurdles and pieces that need to be in place to get big projects in place, but we'll get there. Eat the elephant one bite at a time...
